Postpartum and Newborn Care

I highly value your time bonding with your new baby and spending the necessary time to heal after the birth of your baby. I strive to walk alongside you in the midst of this sometimes challenging but extremely special time. Again, I (midwife Orange County) will come to you! Prenatally we will have many discussions to encourage you to create a postpartum family plan and system that will best support you both emotionally and physically and leave you and your family feeling cared for. Our first postpartum visit will be the day after your baby was born and I will see you at least 5 times during the next 6 - 8 weeks.

  • Continued monitoring of the health and recovery mom

  • Continued monitoring and well checks for baby

  • Breastfeeding support and strategies for successful breastfeeding

  • Strategies for baby care and maximizing sleep

  • State Newborn Metabolic screening

  • Critical Congenital heart defects screening

  • Community resources and referrals as needed

  • Mood disorder screening and referrals for treatment as needed

Postpartum and newborn care come standard with my home birth package.
